Oembed
oEmbed is a format for allowing an embedded representation of a URL on third party sites. oEmbed makes it possible for a web page (i.e. a Wordpress site) to convert a link to embedded media simply by sending a request to the creator of the media content (like YouTube or Flickr) for embed code.
The simple API allows a website to display embedded content (such as photos or videos) when a user posts a link to that resource, without having to parse the resource directly.
