Transcode
Transcode refers to the way in which a data string that has been digitized by an algorithm is decoded.
In short; A real-world image frame is converted into digital data and turned into a digital file by the camera software.
The process of taking one encoding and converting it to another is called transcoding. Used when a particular format is not supported or limited storage requires a reduction in file size.
A good example is to take an MP3 file and convert it to WAV format. Transcoding is an analog-to-analog or digital-to-digital process that works with video and audio files and different character encodings.
There are three kinds of transcoding:
1. Lossy-to-lossy:
2. Lossless-to-lossy
3. Lossless-to-lossy
Examples of Transcoding; Twitch, Youtube.
