What is Powerpoint?
Powerpoint is a useful and very popular tool from the past to the present, where you can turn your product or what you want to tell into a presentation. Powerpoint comes with many ready-made themes and tools to help you create professional looking presentations. You can also create impressive presentations using these themes and tools.

Powerpoint also allows you to export your presentations as videos. In this way, you can easily present your presentations to people who do not have Powerpoint on their computers or you can upload your presentation to video platforms. You can say what benefit will it bring to me by turning a PowerPoint presentation into video? Let's look at a few reasons;

•    Your ability to create videos is not very good, but you can create successful powerpoint presentations. You can quickly prepare impressive presentations or trainings on video platforms such as Cİnema8 by exporting your presentations.
•    You already have a presentation that you have created by spending time and you may not want to spend time making videos again.
•    You may need to send your presentation to someone who does not have a powerpoint on his computer or present your presentation on that computer. In such cases, the video backup of your presentation will be your savior.

We talked about the benefits of exporting video in Powerpoint. Now let's talk about two things that you should pay attention to while exporting your presentations.

1-    Using Animation in Powerpoint
With Powerpoint, you can use separate pages for each topic you want to explain in your presentation, highlight your titles, place short explanations or pictures that attract attention. You can also apply animations to the objects you place in your presentations. The animation feature can be used free of charge in powerpoint.

While the use of animation adds a different atmosphere to your presentations, it also has an important place in video export. Because while exporting video in Powerpoint, you write down how many seconds you have defined per scene. For example; In a 10-page presentation, if you dedicate 5 seconds per scene, you will have a total of 50 seconds of video. However, if there are animations lasting longer than 5 seconds in your scenes, these scenes will not appear in your videos completely, they will move to the next scene after 5 seconds before the animations are completed. Therefore, it is important to arrange animation durations according to video exportation.

2-    Slide Transitions in Powerpoint
Another thing to be aware of is the slide transition times in Powerpoint. Again, this feature is one of the topics that affect the video, such as giving time to animations. The area where you can give special transition times to your scenes;

If you have specified transition times for your scenes, you should specify this when exporting the video. Otherwise, Powerpoint uses the standard time you write in export settings for all scene transitions, and you may experience problems such as the scenes not being visible. We will talk about how the time settings are made in the rest of the article.

After all this information, let's learn how to turn our presentations into videos.

Video Export in Powerpoint
First of all, I click the "Export" button in the "File" tab. Then, on the screen that opens, I click the "Create a Video" button.

2-    There are two fields that I can edit on this screen. These; video resolution option and option where I can set the use of scene transition times

There are 4 options as video resolution. These; Standard (480p), HD (720p), Full HD (1080p), Ultra HD (4K)

Scene transition settings contain two options. These; “Don’t Use Recorded Timings and Narrations” and “Use Recorded Timings and Narrations“
By choosing the "Don’t Use Recorded Timings and Narrations" option, you are expressing not to use the scene transition times that we have described in the previous sections of our article.

The "Use Recorded Timings and Narrations" option adjusts your video according to the scene transition times you set specifically for the scenes. For example; Let's say you give the first scene a transition time of 7 seconds and the second scene a transition time of 4 seconds. The times you wrote with this option will be applied to the one-to-one video. In the "Don’t Use Recorded Timings and Narrations" option, the time you enter in the "Seconds spent on each slide" field is assigned to all scenes as the default time.
