In general, feedback refers to anything that occurs after we perform an action. There can be both critical and positive feedback, and it will come whether or not the receiver asks for it (typically, it comes without asking!). It occurs when another person sees, hears, or experiences something someone else does or says. Therefore, it is based on past performance, which is a significant difference between coaching and feedback.

Moreover, feedback is provided from the perspective of the person who gave it. It is a statement or story regarding their observation and the result of the performance. Instructors use it as an informal method to help the students improve.

The feedback is generally seen as a positive evaluation or advice. Feedback, when given constructively, can do wonders since people love to know how they are doing and how they can improve.
Difference Between Coaching and Feedback
Coaching and feedback in an educational setting focus on the same thing - help develop and improve learners’ skills and performance. However, However, there are certain things that differentiate one concept from the other.

●    Coaching helps one develop skills, while feedback helps one be aware of self and realize his/her strengths and weaknesses.
●    Coaching emphasizes possibilities, and feedback concentrates on adjustments.
●    Coaching is more about helping learners achieve their goals, whereas feedback is concerned with assisting them in understanding why they are not reaching their goals.
●    Coaching is an inquiry-oriented process, while feedback is a scrutiny-oriented process.

Regardless of these differences, the goal of both coaching and feedback is to help learners succeed.
